PATH’s India program is based in New Delhi with sub-offices in Bhopal, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
PATH in India has developed a diverse portfolio of public health programming in the fields of immunization, infectious and vector-borne diseases, health technology commercialization, vaccine development and introduction, HIV and sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health/ nutrition. PATH maintains a diverse base of funding in support of its work in India that includes bilateral and multilateral donors as well as several private foundations.
In India the Immunization portfolio includes Japanese Encephalitis in fifteen states of India and routine immunization projects in the states of Madhya Pradesh (MP), and Maharashtra. Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has awarded a project Saving Children’s Lives Through Immunization (SCLTI), to improve immunization coverage in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The project works closely with the state government and other stakeholders to implement a package of activities on the demand and supply side.
PATH invites applications from experienced and senior public health professionals for the position of Program Advisor based at Bhopal for the SCLTI project. The position reports to the Project Director, Immunization, India to manage the project milestones and team members in the state of MP.
Responsibilities of the Program Advisor shall include:
• Provide technical support to the project staff; government health system and partner organizations for strengthening routine immunization in the state.
• Strategize to draw work plans as per project milestones and implement in the field.
• Build strong monitoring and evaluation system including periodical reports.
• Serve as the main representative of the project to the donor, collaborating partners and representatives of state government.
• Build a strong team by providing individual coaching and setting goals, delegating authority, and ensuring achievement of delegated responsibilities.
• Foster robust communication and collaboration.
• Develop and sustain strong partnerships with public health agencies, donors, project partners and government counterpart.
• Represent PATH at the state, national and international forums.
• Support management of administrative and financial monitoring of the project.
Required Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of immunization program design, delivery and sustainability.
• Demonstrated excellence in developing, leading, managing and supervising professional staff.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in building and maintaining strong partnerships with public health agencies
• Ability to represent the organization at International and national levels.
• Excellent oral and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel extensively.
Required Experience:
Masters degree in medicine, public health or any other relevant discipline; significant professional expertise in Immunization work in India with eight years of experience in managing a public health project.
