JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title : Director - Marketing

Department : Marketing

Reports To: National Director

I. POSITION PURPOSE/JOB MISSION

To raise sustainable resources for World Vision’s ministry among the poor and needy. Develop the Marketing Plan accordingly which assures the growth and viability of World Vision India’s local fund raising. Facilitate and oversee the implementation of the organization’s long-term strategic marketing plans and effectively accomplish the targets in fund raising.

II. POSITION GOALS AND OBJECTIVES (Generic Performance Measures)

1. Engage more number of Indians to share with the poor through various Marketing activities and initiatives.

2. Achieve the growth plans and targets that is approved.

3. Position World Vision as an NGO of choice in the minds of the Indian public.

4. Consistently focus on activities that would help transform donor’s understanding of poverty and deepen their commitment to poor and needy children.

III. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (BASED ON GOALS AND OBJECTIVES)

Strategic Planning


1. Lead and facilitate the strategic planning process for the Marketing Division.

2. Lead and facilitate the budget process for Marketing .

3. Forecast growth and initiate thinking to plan for activities to achieve long term goal.

4. Strategically align marketing activities in conjunction with plans for the operational needs of the organization.

5. Lead the entire Marketing team to plan and implement all the Marketing activities and initiatives.

Marketing Management

1. Evaluate and guide the teams to achieve goals and objectives.
2. Facilitate various processes for the teams to achieve the targets.
3. Ensure Marketing activities are implemented as per plans and guided by the goals and objectives set for the organization as a whole.
4. Explore and introduce new avenues for growth and expansion.
5. Help and facilitate innovation and change for and with the team.

Coaching for Performance

1. Mentor the Marketing team to perform consistently
2. Align goals with Vision/Mission and strategic Directives
3. Understand strength and weakness of staff and facilitate change within the parameters and guidelines of the organization
4. Strongly committed to Christ centered Servant Leadership.

IV. CAPABILITIES /COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS


The following competency may be acquired through a combination of personal commitment, formal schooling, education, prior experience:

A. Education: Master’s Degree in Marketing or Business Administration.

B. Experience: About 12 years experience in Marketing and fund raising.

C. Expertise: Must have good leadership skills and be able to manage knowledge based work force and large teams. Computer literate and possess experience in negotiation of contracts, agreements etc. Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (both written and spoken)

4. Should be able to provide vision for the Marketing Division.

6. Good knowledge on Marketing principles
7. Should mentor and coach for performance
