Fragility and Resilience Manager (DRR and Adaptation)
Salary: c £37k dependant on experience
Based: Milton Keynes or London with a minimum of 2 days in Milton Keynes
In particular, we have prioritised working in fragile contexts to drive positive change for children in the areas of health, protection and resilience to disasters. Heading up the Fragility and Resilience Unit, you will drive forward this key activity and develop our understanding of the drivers of fragility: natural hazards (including those related to climate change), conflict and poor governance. We will look to you to develop a holistic framework embracing both programmatic and policy approaches to resilience and fragility , whilst providing inspiring leadership to the Conflict and Governance Adviser and taking ownership of the budget and work plan – so expect considerable autonomy and impact.
An experienced DRR and adaptation specialist, you will bring demonstrable expertise in research, programme development and external engagement, together with expert knowledge of international discussions on resilience. Naturally, this should be backed by a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, extensive exposure to overseas locations and familiarity with the UNISDR Hyogo framework priorities. Finally, you will be capable of influencing policy, drafting high quality reports and effectively building capacity in cross-cultural contexts.
