Programme Manager- South Sudan Country Program
Working with partners and within the existing policy framework, the appointee will initiate, develop and manage high quality cost effective eye health programmes in line with the South Sudan national priorities and Sightsavers organisational strategy.
Reporting to the Regional Officer Programme Operations in the East, Central and Southern Africa Region, the key areas of responsibility for the positions are:-
1. Develop a robust country programme in South Sudan
2. Identify and develop strong partnerships to deliver eye health programmes in the country
3. Work with Ministry of Health both and National and state levels to develop and support eye health organs for expansion of eye care services in the country
4. Ensure prudent management of organisational financial resources to meet set objectives
5. Ensure effective planning and management of the South Sudan programmes
The ideal candidate, who should be preferably a South Sudanese national, will possess post graduate qualifications in social sciences, development studies, public health or a related field.
Significant working experience in an NGO environment with skills and knowledge of working in post conflict environments and extensive Line management experience is required as are sound programme management skills, budget development and monitoring, resource management. Proven knowledge of advocacy, research, partnership development and resource mobilisation is essential. He / she will also be a person of high integrity who possesses good interpersonal, planning, organisational, report writing, team building and computer skills.
