Job Description

We are looking for a South-Asian energy efficiency expert for a long-term position (full-time position, 27 person-months) with regard to a tendered project in Nepal. The project focuses on energy efficiency in the following industrial sectors: metal; food; cement; pulp and paper; cold storage; hotel; soap, chemical and allied products and brick.

The overall objective is to achieve the adoption of the advice from accredited energy auditors by industrial enterprises and commercial banks.

The following services are to be provided:

-        Capacity and organizational development of the energy efficiency center as well as of district chambers;

-        Establishment of knowledge management as well as of monitoring and evaluation systems;

-        Pilot energy audits;

-        Elaboration and implementation of training courses;

-        Set-up of an audit quality check system for banks;

-        Facilitation of awareness raising measures for banks, industry and governmental agencies;

-        Development of policies and regulations on energy efficiency. 

Qualifications:

-        University degree in engineering with industry and energy background or in economics with industry background;

-        A minimum of three years of professional experience in Nepal or India in energy efficiency in the industry or as energy auditor;

-        Sound experience in capacity development and training and/or methodological skills, eg monitoring and evaluation, documenting work;

-        Profound knowledge regarding the provision of advisory services to industries, banks and local governmental organizations;

-        Excellency in writing and speaking English; German would be an asset;

-        Experience with GIZ projects will be an advantage.
