These two (2) exciting opportunities are to join the International Programs Division within The Foundation and contribute to the growth of an international development organisation that focuses on blindness prevention and Australian Indigenous health.
Regional Manager Africa - This position will require some international travel. The position is responsible for the oversight of the regional portfolio of programs; ensuring country programs are aligned with The Foundation’s strategic framework to eliminate avoidable blindness by 2020.
Regional Manager Asia - This position will require some international travel. The position is responsible for the oversight of a regional portfolio of programs comprising Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Indonesia and the Philippines, ensuring all country programs are aligned with The Foundation’s strategic framework to eliminate avoidable blindness by 2020.
Selection criteria: Demonstrated experience managing complex international development programs in Africa or Asia (preferably in the area of eye health or public health). Leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team. Superior relationship-management and interpersonal skills. Strong project and financial management skills and capacity to develop and implement appropriate policies, procedures and systems in these areas. Experience in contract negotiation and compliance. Demonstrated capacity for high-level representation and strategic advocacy and the ability to engage and influence senior levels of government, multi-lateral agencies and other relevant stakeholders. Excellent communication skills. Confident presentation and public speaking skills. Compelling writing skills.
