 Regional Manager
 ActionAid India

ActionAid works as a catalyst to support people to fight against poverty and lead change for better across 24 states in India through 12 regional offices. We are part of a global federation active across 40 countries. 

ActionAid India wishes to recruit a Regional Manager for its Bhubaneswar Regional Office.  The successful candidate will report to Director – Policy & Programmes and be part of the Senior Management Team. The nature of employment can be permanent or contractual depending upon the organization policy/requirement at the time of appointment. 

Main Job Responsibilities –:

The Regional Manager will be responsible for identifying and appraising NGO partners, supporting their work and monitoring progress.  S/he will proactively engage in Advocacy and Policy influencing at State level and will work with the most marginalized and vulnerable communities, networks, social movements and governments to secure greater justice for the marginalized people.   

S/he will work through the Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) and facilitate the conscientisation and empowerment of the marginalized and excluded communities, with a team of development professionals and create an enabling environment for innovation and effective performance towards achieving ActionAid Country Strategy Paper goals. The Ideal Candidate should –

·         Have Post-Graduate degree in Social Work/Social Sciences/Rural Development/Management or equivalent. 

·         Play a key leadership role and represent the organization in important forums the role would encompass managing a team as well as spearheading the fundraising initiatives in the region. 

·         Have minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role/profile. 

·         Be well equipped to handle media communication and relations. 

·         Have good exposure of working with Campaign teams for broad basing the campaign work. 

·         Have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and necessary skills to liaise/ network with social movements, Civil Society groups, NGOs, INGOs, Government and other agencies. Also, be able to efficiently handle Advocacy and Policy influencing at the State level. 

·         Preferably have an activist background; be gender sensitive and have conviction/skills for the empowerment of marginalized and excluded social groups. 

·         Have strong experience/technical skills in planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring & evaluating development projects. 

·         Knowledge of regional/local language will be an added advantage. 

·         Be willing to travel extensively, as required.
