The Asia Pacific Region is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to the post
of Development Executive.
The purpose of the role is to support the promotion and development of Girl
Guiding & Girl Scouting to the 25 Member Organizations within the Asia Pacific
Region, an extensive area covering the South Asian Association for Regional
Cooperation areas, throughout East Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania.
You will be part of the Regional team reporting to the Regional Director, and
working alongside the Asia Pacific Committee.
You will need to be an astute individual able to build relationships and work in
partnership with individual Member Organizations, identifying their varying
needs and providing assistance – be it planning and staging events; delivering
training in any or all of the strategic priorities: (leadership, quality and
advocacy), generating and preparing reports; working with and encouraging
volunteers; managing any number of differing projects at one time and at a
distance; whilst also finding opportunities for generating interest in and
promoting WAGGGS to new members.
You must have experience of working with volunteers, liaising with committees,
strategic planning and have the ability to work both as part of a team and
independently. It will be an added advantage if you are knowledgeable about
advocacy work relating to the Millennium Development Goals and the Pacific
countries. You will need to have a very good working knowledge of English, with
knowledge of another language within the Asia Pacific region.
This is a 2 year contract, commencing October 2011.
