Market Researcher

YouGov Special Projects is seeking a market researcher to work in a client facing role, managing both quantitative and qualitative research projects the purpose of which are to investigate social and political attitudes and evaluate media in Iraq.

This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious researcher to work with a group of experienced country analysts, conflict transformation and political strategists on a unique project based out of a secure facility in Baghdad.

Responsibilities:
You will manage quantitative and qualitative projects from inception (defining objectives, developing questionnaires/discussion guides) through to completion (writing up and presenting findings).

You will be working with alongside a small team of international researchers and a much larger team of Iraqi researchers, most of whom speak English as a second language. This team is genuinely talented and dedicated. All have several years experience of conducting market research across Iraq.

You will review quantitative data, qualitative data and intelligence reports to generate insights about the developing ideas, attitudes and narratives within Iraq. You will be presenting these insights on a regular basis to audiences with varying levels of research literacy.

The role involves working 20 consecutive days at a secure location in Baghdad, followed by 10 consecutive days break (one additional day per break is allocated for transit). All flights in and out of country are paid for.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years experience of working in a market research role.
• Experience of interpreting quantitative data is essential and familiarity with qualitative research is desirable.
• Knowledge of SPSS is preferable but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal English.
• Arabic is an advantage but not essential. You will be working with a team of Iraqi researchers who speak English as a second language.
