Makkala Jagriti (literally means – Awakening of Children”) founded in 2003, is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that seeks to create a holistic learning environment for emotionally and economically deprived children. We facilitate (non-formal) education and development of children by augmenting the child’s school education through diverse learning opportunities. We also work closely with their parents, teachers and the community as a whole to make the learning experience that much more enriching.

Program Development Person

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualise, design and implement activity-based learning programs to specifically address the needs of the children (6 – 14yrs) who have dropped out of schools
  • Design and facilitate enriching programs to build capacity for the youth (16 to 19 years) who are from socially and economically marginalized communities.
  • Responsible for impact analysis of the programs including planning, documenting, monitoring and evaluating
  • Network with different organizations, resource people, volunteers and consultants to bring new and exciting learning opportunities for children and youth
  • Conduct inter-learning centre exchange programs

 Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Post-Graduate, preferably in any branch of Social Sciences
  • 8+ years of total experience with at least 5 years’ in the development sector
  • Capacity to develop and facilitate non-formal education and training sessions for youth
  • Training and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in English and Kannada
  • Proficiency in computer and writing skills
