Makkala Jagriti (literally means – Awakening of Children”) founded in
2003, is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that seeks to create a
holistic learning environment for emotionally and economically deprived
children. We facilitate (non-formal) education and development of
children by augmenting the child’s school education through diverse
learning opportunities. We also work closely with their parents, teachers
and the community as a whole to make the learning experience that much
more enriching.

Program Development Person
Role and Responsibilities:
-
Conceptualise, design and implement activity-based learning programs to
specifically address the needs of the children (6 – 14yrs) who have
dropped out of schools
-
Design and
facilitate enriching programs to build capacity for the youth (16 to 19
years) who are from socially and economically marginalized communities.

Responsible for impact analysis of the programs including planning,
documenting, monitoring and evaluating

Network
with
different organizations, resource people, volunteers and consultants to
bring new and exciting learning opportunities for children and youth

Conduct
inter-learning centre exchange programs
Experience,
Knowledge and Skills Required:
-
Post-Graduate, preferably in any branch of Social Sciences
-
8+ years of total experience with at least 5 years’ in the development
sector
-
Capacity to develop and facilitate non-formal education and training
sessions for youth
-
Training and facilitation skills
-
Fluency in English and Kannada
-
Proficiency in computer and writing skills
