The mission of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) is to seek the coordinated, effective and efficient planning and implementation of priorities, plans and projects in support of Haitifs recovery and development in the wake of the 12 January 2010 earthquake. The IHRC is searching for an outstanding individual to fill the following position in Port-au-Prince:
DIRECTOR OF PROJECTS
Main responsibilities
The Director of Projects, reporting directly to the Executive Director, is responsible for:
* Developing and educating recovery stakeholders about IHRCfs policies, protocols and standards for projects, programs and implementers;
* Managing the review and approval process for all donor, NGO and government projects;
* Managing project stakeholders relationships from pre-approval through to completion;
* Supervising the Projects team and supporting the Executive Director as needed to develop and implement strategies across the organization.
Traits and characteristics
* Excellent facilitation skills with complex stakeholders;
* Demonstrated integrity, leadership, and communication skills;
* Pragmatic, autonomous and deadline-oriented workstyle.
Qualification requirements
* Significant experience in large-scale project management in developing countries;
* Successful track record in building consensus in a complex multi-stakeholder environment;
* Experience in project policies, protocols and standards setting;
* University degree with at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in government, business or non-profit sector;
* Languages: Fluency (strong written and oral communication skills) in French and English, Creole also strongly preferred.
