Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is seeking highly-qualified applicants for the position of Coordinator of Development Operations to provide operational and technical support to its Development and Outreach Department.

Description: The Coordinator will coordinate donation processing systems for the development department’s fundraising operations currently with regard to Europe and Asia. S/he will supervise gift entry and acknowledgments and oversee our online giving systems, powered by Kintera. The position is based in HRW’s London office and reports to the Director of Development Operations in New York.

The general job duties of this position include, but are not limited to: supervising the gift entry and acknowledgment processes, working with outside vendors and other development staff; overseeing our online donation pages and generating gift reports for city development directors; providing Raiser’s Edge data-entry/training/support/reports, primarily for HRW’s offices in Europe and Asia; interacting with development and finance staff and managing data-related initiatives and projects, including cleanup and data-reporting; coordinating with development and legal department staff on donor data privacy requirements; and performing other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver and a strategic and organized thinker with a minimum of two years of experience working in an operational or technical support role. S/he will have advanced knowledge of online fundraising software and database systems, preferably Kintera and Raiser’s Edge; experience overseeing vendors and working with colleagues in remote offices; expertise in database queries, import/export and reporting functions; full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mail merges and other standard software applications; strong written and verbal skills in English; and excellent time-management and prioritization abilities. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. The successful candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, attentive to detail and able to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of oral and written French and/or German is a plus. Applicants for this position must possess current UK or EU work authorization for a minimum of two years from the start date.
