REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer, FXB International
LOCATION: FXB USA Headquarters, New York, NY
START DATE: July 2011

MISSION:
The mission of FXB is to fight poverty and AIDS, and support the world’s orphans and vulnerable children left in the wake of the pandemic. FXB offers comprehensive support to families and communities that care for these children, and advocates for their needs and fundamental rights.

Since its establishment in 1989, FXB has developed sustainable, scalable and grassroots solutions to support communities in their path towards self-reliance. Creating partnerships with local and international organizations are an integral part of FXB’s success in all its programs. In particular, the Village Model Program is a low cost, sustainable, community based project proven successful in helping families respond more effectively to poverty and the impact of HIV/AIDS on them and their children. The program provides a comprehensive package of services including education, vocational training, medical support, psychosocial counselling, and most importantly, investment and training of income generating activities.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
FXB International ( www.fxb.org ) seeks an energetic leader and manager to serve as our global Director of Finance and Administration. Under the direction of the CEO, the Director of Finance and Administration will plan, organize, manage and control all aspects of Finance and Administration for the organization; recommend and implement the financial policies and procedures of the agency; oversee policies and procedures for accounting, contracts, purchasing, payroll, administrative services and management information services. The CEO and Director of Finance and Administration will share responsibilities for managing the human resources of the organization, as well. FXB International is in the process of transferring its headquarters from Geneva, Switzerland to New York City. The Director of Finance and Administration will play a key role in completing this transfer in the initial months of this position.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works closely with the CEO and Board members to provide strategic management and overall leadership of the finance and accounting department, including:
o financial management and reporting
o budget preparation and control
o payroll preparation, purchasing, fiscal record management
o risk management and contract compliance and reporting
• Establishes and maintains close working relationships with finance/administration teams in our 10 country platforms, including the periodic travel to the country operations for review/supervision/audit of all financial and administrative operations
• Directly mentors and supervises the finance/administration staff positions in Geneva and NYC
• Recommends budget allocations; prepares budget projections and models; plays a lead role in producing new program budgets for proposals to donors
• Plans and implements cash management for the organization
• Drives the effort to consolidate the organization’s automated accounting system and ensures that the system adds value to all stakeholders
• Plans and presents periodic financial statements and operational reports, which provide data concerning the organization income and expenditures
• Ensures the organization is appropriately responsive to external changes and trends (i.e., legislative, economic, etc.) that affect its financial functioning and security, including implementation of appropriate contingency planning
• Manages internal and external audit requirements; provides general oversight to the organization’s relationship with external auditors and response to audit findings
• Prepares long-range projections to develop a financial strategy for the organization
• Estimates the financial impact of policy options to support the decision-making process
• Provides business models supporting new strategic initiatives of the organization
• Manages all administrative and Information Technology systems for the organization, including:
o Updating/implementing administrative and security procedures, to include management of all assets/property
o Leading the effort to ensure all IT needs are well supported
• Works alongside the CEO to direct and administers all aspects of FXB’s human resources program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• An experienced leader and supervisor with a degree in finance/accounting, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, to include experience working in developing countries, in the non-profit sector, and across cultures
• Relevant experience working with large donors such as USAID and others
• An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual, strong team player
• A well-organized and self-directed individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable in both tactical and strategic discussions
• French language skills strongly desired.
