Position Available: Ecuador Interim Director, (Maternity Leave Contract)

Free The Children seeks a driven and experienced Director to join our dynamic team for a maternity leave contract (18 months)

This is an 18 month contract, with salary commensurate of experience. Upon completion of the three month probation period, all staff members are offered a health plan (including dental) and Employee Assistance Program. The position is based out of our Ecuador office 18 months of the year.

Skills and Qualifications:
The interested candidate to the position will require the following skill set:
• MA degree (or BA + professional experience) in international relations, political science,
business/organizational administration or another related field
• Fluency in Spanish
• Experience in program and/or project management
• Comfortable living and working with difference cultures
• High level of professionalism developed through previous work experiences
• Proven management and decision making experience
• Strong communication skills with varied audiences: youth, local staff, high end donors, local Quichua
people, and local government officials.
• Strong business or entrepreneurial sense

Responsibilities:
• This role is a member of the Ecuador office management team and is responsible for providing
support to staff
• Coordination of Me to We volunteer and leadership trips
• Manage facilitators when in country with regards to HR, provide feedback and training
• Manage a diverse team of drivers, camp manager, lodge personnel and facilitators
• Ensure high standard of service to participants including lodging, transportation, meals and volunteer
experience
• Responsible for Program and Partnership development related to Trips
• Responsible for facilitating youth and adult trips in Ecuador
• Work with Ecuador staff in coordination of projects and Me to We Trips
• Assist and ensure excellent community relations while to Me to We trips are taking place
• Assist in reporting to main office
• Support local staff in project development
• Experience assessing needs, budgeting, implementing programs oversees and coordinating youth and volunteer trips is an asset
