EveryChild is an international development charity working
to stop children growing up vulnerable and alone. We work to keep
families together, keep vulnerable children safe, and get children back
with a safe and caring family.
The India programme currently operates a programme for
sponsorship out of our Bangalore office with local partners in 2 regions
of South India. During the next 3 years the programme will look at
opportunities to develop specific partnerships in the north of India to
deliver EveryChild (EvC) focus on Children without Parental Care (CWPC).
We now need a Country Director to provide the strategic
vision and direction for the development and work of EvC India to ensure
that we develop impactful programmes targeted at bringing about
sustainable change in the lives of CWPC and their communities whilst
identifying the systems and societal change needed to reduce the number
of CWPC in India.
The Country Director is responsible for the overall
budget, planning, management and implementation of EveryChild’s programme
in India. The post acts as the main link with EvC worldwide and promotes
the work of EvC India at the national and international level.
The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in
development or one of the social sciences (essential) with a Masters
degree (preferred). The will be have the ability to develop successful
partnerships and maintain these effectively. They will also bring
substantial experience from senior level positions in international NGOs
managing development programmes along with significant experience in
programme management and supporting the development of projects and donor
proposals. This will be supplemented by a good understanding of rights
based approach and the issues for CWPC in the India context.
