BE AT THE HEART OF THE CONSUMER MOVEMENT IN AFRICA

Consumers International (CI) is the only independent global campaigning voice for consumers.

With over 220 member organisations in 115 countries, we are building a powerful international consumer movement to help protect and empower consumers everywhere.

As Head of CI’s Africa office you will contribute to the achievement of CI´s global objectives by providing support and assessment to regional members, maintaining information about CI´s members and their activities. Ensuring that CI is communicating with and listening to its members, ensuring the growth and strengthening of the consumer movement in Africa, as an intrinsic part of the global consumer movement.

The post holder of this job is part of CI’s global management team and is expected to develop a regional strategy and action plan, which meets the overall strategic objectives of CI and the needs of member organisations in the region.

You are an experienced senior manager with a strong track record of successful fundraising from non-commercial funds, trusts and other organisations. You are used to working at a strategic level, managing a team of multi-national staff, including managing at a distance; with a good understanding of the political and economic situation in Africa and how that relates to the Consumer.
