Expression of Interest 

Background and overview: 

ChildFund India, a Child sponsorship organisation, is a part of ChildFund International, one of the largest and most respected non-sectarian child development and protection organizations in the world. Established in 1938, ChildFund International is a not-for-profit charitable organization working in over 31 countries around the globe to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to improve their lives and the opportunity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change to their communities.  

In India, ChildFund is working since 1951 by extending its support through sponsorship projects and grants to a growing number of children and youth across 14 States and 1 Union Territory of India.  

ChildFund India Programmatic Approach: 

ChildFund India addresses the holistic well-being of children, families & communities by providing financial, technical and institution-building assistance with maximum involvement of the local people in the design, implementation and monitoring of all it programs.  ChildFund follows a life cycle approach looking into age appropriate interventions in each stage of development of child. In this context, ChildFund India’s goals are: 

·   Healthy and Secure Infants  (For 0-5 year age group) 

The key focus of ChildFund India under “Healthy and Secure Infants” is on the issues of Safe motherhood, pre-post natal care, early childhood development, safe drinking water & sanitation, regular immunization, nutrition, community management of childhood illnesses. 

·   Educated and Confident Children (For 5-14 year age group) 

The key focus elements in this phase include quality-driven learning opportunities, child-friendly schools, alternative basic education, participatory school governance, care of special children. 

·   Skilled and Involved Youth (for 15 – 24 year age group)

We strive to bring positive outcomes and lasting changes in the life of our children at every stage of their lives. 

With this background information a call for EoI is being sought by ChildFund India for partnership on implementing projects with the life cycle approach at the following locations: 


1). Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh
2). Pondicherry (UT)
3). Kakinada, AP


1. The NGO should be involved with community development programs in rural India.

2. The NGO should have at least three years of experience of implementing development Programs at Village level with annual budget between 2-5 crores.

3. The NGO should have proven track record regarding administration, finance, community outreach services and possess basic infrastructure necessary to implement the project.

Preference will be given to the organization already working in the target area and/or nearby location.


The “Expression of Interests’ received by ChildFund India will be reviewed by a review team who will then invite shortlisted NGO/s to submit a detailed proposal. The Proposals will be reviewed and short listed NGOs shall be invited for a brief presentation on proposed program and strategy. A visit will be made to the shortlisted NGOs.

A decision to award will be taken on the basis of overall performance.
