The Caribbean HIV & AIDS Alliance (CHAA) was established in January 2003,and currently work with most of risk community in Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago the objective of CHAAs programme is to prevent new HIV infections and mitigate the impact of AIDS among vulnerable groups in the Caribbean.

We are seeking to recruit highly qualified and motivated individuals for an upcoming United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Eastern Caribbean Community Action Project II which will expand CHAA operations into three additional countries of the Eastern Caribbean.

Financial Specialist
Based Trinidad & Tobago

The Finance Specialist will have overall responsibility for the financial management of Eastern Caribbean Community Action Project II. This includes preparation of Budgets, financial reports in consultation with Chief of Party and Head of finance and Operations

Reporting To: Chief of Party

Key responsibilities will include
In collaboration with Chief of Party provide overall leadership in the financial management of EC-CAP II project
Provide guidance and support in all the project financial matters to the Chief of Party.
Attend meetings of the Project management team and advice on the financial matters
Regularly review and update the internal control procedures and ensure compliance by staff and partner organizations of EC-CAP II project Provide regular feedback to the Chief of party on issues relating to financial record keeping, highlighting any discrepancies or irregularities in the accounts or records processed or reviewed.
Represent the accounting team, as required both internally and externally.
Take overall responsibility for submitting timely and accurate financial reports to the donors, as appropriate, working closely with the Head of Finance and administration.
Ensure that senior management and programme staff are adequately informed of relevant donor restrictions.
Ensure adherence to the subcontracting, procurement and grants management plans Provide regular support to the country office for financial reporting to the regional office.
Ensure overall contract compliance, reporting, and program results
Ensure optimal use of financial resources, both in terms of adhering to approved budgets and in meeting project goals.
