The Brooke is the UK’s leading overseas welfare charity for working horses, donkeys and mules.
The Brooke currently operates across eleven countries in Asia, Africa, Central America and the Middle East, with over 800 highly-skilled staff working directly in the field. Our goal is to increase the number of working animals we reach from 730,000 every year to measurably improving the lives of at least 2 million suffering horses, donkeys and mules in the most need in the developing world.
In line with this goal, Brooke intends to develop options for programme development in the regions of Central and South America. The current work in the region is restricted to a small partnership project in Guatemala, but there are a number of potential opportunities for further expansion in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Columbia and elsewhere.
This is an exciting opportunity for a bilingual (Spanish and English speaking) development professional within the region of Latin America. The post holder would be responsible for developing options for programme expansion within the region. The post holder will be expected to work with a high level of autonomy and initiative to establish and monitor a small regional programme through local partners. The post holder must demonstrate experience of managing and developing NGO programmes within the region, and must have strong leadership, management and communication skills.
