International Development Consultant wanted to organize investor forum to Southern Sudan for USAID Contractor.

Expected Start Date: May 1, 2011. Six week assignment.

Deliverables Include:
- Development of logical paths for linking intermediate program and project type specific outcomes to ultimate economic improvement;
- Mining of program data in database and prior program evaluations, and the application of statistical analysis to establish relationships among conference goals, settings, future deals, outcome; and
- Design and development of a program analysis tool to help determine future conferences and topics.

The consultant will manage the conference, develop linkages that are essential to bringing U.S. investors and Sudanese companies together; Identify the capacity to develop a community of investors and key stakeholders for a common objective: investment in Sudan, emphasizing businesses. Invite stakeholders that represent a spectrum of interests and perspectives and could include senior level U.S. government officials, African leaders in Agriculture and ministers, and executives from both the U.S. and African private sectors.

Topics for the conference may include:

- Work with the Export Import Bank (EXIM), the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), and the Trade Development Agency (TDA) to identify business opportunities for US firms and to help secure financing and insurance for overseas investments.
 

- Opportunities and investment in agriculture
  Provide policy/market analysis on promising business opportunities in Southern Sudan
  Opportunities, impediments and constraints to investment in Southern Sudan

Bachelor degree required, Masters preferred. Experience organizing similar conferences and experience in Africa required.
