Established in 1995, Pragya is a non-governmental, development organization implementing projects in the remote and underserved regions of the world. The organization aims to deliver integrated and holistic development projects in the areas of education, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, agriculture and water management, women, and cultural heritage preservation. We invite applications for the following position:
Position: Sr. Team Member (Institutional Resource Mobilization)
Salary: INR 300,000 to 450,000 p.a.
Location: Gurgaon, India
Last Date: 22 August, 2011.
1. Fundraising and Reporting:
a. Identifying potential donors among trusts and institutional funders
b. Direct seeking of funding, including submitting briefs / proposals, making presentations and active follow-up
c. Maintaining relationships with existing funders, and enhancing the scale and period of funding
a. Building awareness about Pragya and its projects and activities, and creating an understanding of the need for funding among the funding community
b. Compiling and disseminating periodic information on the target region and people and their issues, electronically and through select media and to select institutions
3. Networking and Collaboration
a. Identifying appropriate partners for collaborative projects as well as for technical inputs, as and when necessary
b. Selecting effective forums specific to development sector as well as developing world issues, and representing the organisation at these
The incumbent would also be expected to participate in research, publications and advocacy efforts of the organisation, from time to time.
The person will be required to be very self motivated and should ideally possess the following:
a. Three plus years of experience in the sector, working in similar roles
b. Masters degree or equivalent in development or a related field
c. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
d. The right to live and work in India
