The Rights based Country Strategy aims at deepening our understanding beyond legal entitlements and addressing questions of social, economic and ecological injustice suffered by the poor and marginalized communities. DIRECTOR (POLICY AND PROGRAMMES)
ActionAid India is looking for a dynamic leader as Director Policy and Programmes, who would contribute towards the political discourse of the organization, using people centric Human Rights framework, through proactive engagement with key social movements, networks and platforms of the socially excluded in the country. The role involves knowledge creation and sharing in order to gain understanding of the issues, strategies, processes and outcomes for further reflection and engagement for pro-poor policies. The role entails design and development of programmatic work ensuring total accountability. It looks at Action Aid annual operating plans, budget allocations and monitoring and evaluation of program deliverables. The incumbent is expected to deepen and advance AA India’s Policy and Programme engagement for real “Inclusive Development”.

Person Profile: Erudite with excellent networking skills, the candidate should be a Post Graduate in Social Sciences/Social Work/Management with at least 10 years of relevant experience including atleast 5 years in senior management capacity. The candidate should have excellent understanding of the current social, political, economic and cultural issues at local, national and international levels. Extensive travel is necessary.

The position reporting to the Executive Director will be based in New Delhi.
