JOB PROFILE – Education Team Leader

The Position within the Company:

Hippocampus Leaning Centres (HLC) is setting up an after-school learning program for children in villages, from pre-school to Class 10, that to improve learning in Kannada, English and Maths.

HLC runs these programs through a network of entrepreneurs. They are Franchisees of HLC, with HLC providing the curriculum, training, educational materials and ongoing support. The training and ongoing support is provided through Education Co-ordinators (ECs) who teach these Franchisees all aspects of program delivery.

The Education Team Leader will manage a team of these Education Co-ordinators and through them the performance of the Franchisees. This includes supervising the work of the ECs, managing their training and development plans (through domain experts), collecting and analysing performance parameters of the various Franchisees, organising training interventions and when required. 

Job Profile

The candidate should have a background in managing projects and people. An interest in the field of education is desirable 

Job Description

·         Manage a team of education co-ordinators whose main function is capacity building of teachers

·         Manage the monthly activities of the Education Co-ordinators and oversee their work

·         Collate training and development needs of ECs

·         Develop agenda for initial and ongoing training of Franchisees

·         Co-ordinate with the Training function to ensure all training needs to ECs and Franchisees are met

·         Collate and review performance of each franchisee on all learning parameters and recommend to senior management where corrective steps need to be taken

·         Assist in the recruitment and induction of new ECs as and when required





Educational Qualifications

Any basic degree

Management degree

Other Knowledge

Read, write and speak English fluently


Speak Kannada fluently

 Read and speak Kannada


Good verbal and written communication skills


Good computer skills (MS Office, email)



3 or more years of managing teams.

3 or more years of managing educational projects or franchisee operations


Training or teaching


Should be able to travel to villages at least once every week for 2-3 days
