International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) is a Swiss not for profit foundation acting as an umbrella organization for almost 200 societies worldwide. The mission of the IOF is to advocate for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and raise awareness of bone health. With Regional Offices in Singapore, Buenos Aires, Dubai and Switzerland, IOF is a science based organization which develops educational materials for HCP and the Public, hosts scientific meetings, workshops and PR and media events. With a new Communications and Fundraising Strategy in place, IOF is looking for an experienced Development Coordinator.

The Development Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer and forms part of the global team located in Nyon, Switzerland, located near Geneva.

IOF is looking for a results oriented, fundraiser who will work with Senior Management in developing fundraising strategies and assume overall responsibility for research and production of effective grant proposals to private foundations, government agencies, and corporate and private sources to successfully secure major funding to meet the IOF’s program needs. The successful candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic with experience building lasting relationships with high profile organizations


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Successful, timely production of all IOF proposals for funding from, foundation, corporate and private sources; works closely with program staff on content.
• Familiarity with national, regional and global sources of funding in IOF’s areas of activity;
• Keeping up on trends in foundation and corporate philanthropy and for maintaining relationships with program directors and other personnel at foundations and corporate giving offices;
• Conducting an ongoing research program to identify new sources and changes in grants guidelines and funding initiatives at current sources.
• Managing the grant calendar and log of foundation and corporate requests and contacts;
• Overseeing all communications with funding sources, including program updates and submission of required reports. Support the team in providing current and accurate program-related materials for non-foundation fundraising initiatives, including, upon request, the drafting of letters requesting corporate sponsorships, assembling corporate sponsorship packages and follow up on corporate sponsorship requests. Support events staff in providing all promised benefits for corporate sponsors.
Training and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational attainment;
• At least 5 years experience successfully writing proposals on behalf of a non-profit agency/ institution with an emphasis on foundation and corporate proposals and some experience with government grants;
• Requires ability to develop internal and external working relationships to build and attract greater funding opportunities;
• Must be an excellent writer with English as a mother tongue;
• Professional demeanor required;
• Healthcare Experience Advantageous.
Candidates with a Swiss Work Permit (or eligibility) only.
