Project Director (Contingent Upon Contract Award)

Contract/Department: Instructional Systems Division
Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or as determined by contract requirements

Location of Job: Arlington, VA

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for the project in its entirety.
• Provide managerial oversight and timely implementation of all project activities and reporting of activities to the client.
• Supervise the implementation of technical assistance in the form of professional training for client staff as well as organizational capacity building for the client.
• Take responsibility for the successful performance of the technical assistance team, deputy director, operations and finance staff.
• Lead and take responsibility for all administrative requirements to fulfill the performance objectives specified.
• Serve as the contractor’s representative and maintain regular communication with all relevant stakeholders at USAID in Washington, D.C. and in missions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

This position requires a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in public health, professional & organizational development, public administration, management, business administration or a related field with at least 5 years’ experience managing mid to large scale USAID-funded projects, or other donor-funded projects, exceptional managerial/operational expertise and coordination with clients. Experience in the provision of professional development training to government staff using innovative training & technical assistance tools and modules, experience in the provision of capacity building, training and technical assistance in organizational development to government bureaus and extensive experience conducting/designing training programs and facilitating meetings. Individual must have excellent communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines. Travel may be required. Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills required.
