Research Assistant (For one year)
based at New Delhi

To be considered for this position, applicants must have the legal authority to work and reside in India.

PATH is an international nonprofit organization with the mission to improve the health of people around the world by advancing technologies, strengthening systems, and encouraging healthy behaviors. In India, PATH has a country office in New Delhi with site offices in Bhopal, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Mumbai. In collaboration with PATH’s global programs, PATH in India has developed a diverse portfolio of public health programming in the fields of immunization, infectious and vector borne diseases, health technology commercialization, vaccine research and introduction, HIV and sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and newborn health.

Sure Start Project:
Sure Start is an initiative intended to catalyze sustainable improvements in maternal and newborn health through effective community action in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and seven selected urban sites of Maharashtra. Sure Start aims to complement and support the Government of India’s commitment to improving maternal and newborn health, with special focus on National Rural Health Mission and RCH II.

Sure Start promotes integrated attention to both maternal and newborn health, within a broader continuum of health services and programs. Sure Start supports the scaling up of promising approaches, leveraging the successes of pilot projects across large populations. Sure Start focuses on household and community action, complementing other initiatives that focus on clinical facilities and overall health systems.

Responsibilities:

• Support tools development and then provide statistical analysis support (using the software package STATA) on a project evaluation,
• Study the impact of communications initiatives towards behaviour change among households for better survival of newborns.
• Beyond the impact study the Research Assistant will also assist in discrete analysis of impact of single interventions (models of interventions) on key behaviours for a variety of maternal newborn health innovative approaches.


Required Skills

Data analysis proficiency using STATA software.

Qualifications

Masters in Economics or Statistics or Computer Science or Operation Research with experience in working with large health and/or social research datasets.
