Project Manager – Interested in Managing possibly the Most Challenging Water Infrastructure Project in the World bringing Safe Water Supply to over 8 Million People

We are urgently seeking to fill the position of Project Manager for our ongoing 5-year Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Water Supply Project in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Project commenced in August 2009 and covers Consultancy Services for the Design, Tendering, Supervision and Contract Management of the Works for the rehabilitation and extension of the water supply networks, approx. 3,500 km distribution lines and 200,000 service connections. The Project is funded by a loan from the ADB. The Project has an overall budget of around USD 200 Million.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be responsible for overall management and implementation of the Project. The Project Manager will be in charge of all other consultants, including the timing of their inputs and the quality of their outputs. He/She will liaise with the client (Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority) PMU on a day-to-day basis and with ADB. He/she will be responsible for all reporting on the project in a timely manner, and for updating the project schedule as per the critical path method of construction management. Reporting line to Jens Thøgersen, Project Director, at Grontmij | Carl Bro, Denmark. 

Requirements:

To be qualified for the position of Project Manager, you must meet the following criteria:

·         Degree in Engineering, equivalent to Masters in Civil / Water Resource / Water Supply Engineering / Project Management / Development Management.

·         Minimum 15 years experience in planning, design and implementation of large-scale water supply or other relevant (water resource, wastewater or urban development) projects.

·         Minimum 5-10 years experience as Team Leader.

·         Minimum 5-10 years experience in developing countries, preferably in South or South East Asia.

·         Experience on international donor funded projects, preferably experience on ADB-funded projects.

 

We are looking for a Project Manager candidate who would be able to mobilize by July/August 2010. The position is full-time through August 2014.
