Director, employee relations
Washington, D.C. - June 28, 2011

Chemonics International seeks a senior-level director to support global employee relations in its Human Resources Division. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world and demonstrate leadership, versatility, and integrity in their work.


Responsibilities include:

• Mediate employee issues related to performance, grievance, or policy and conduct concerns
• Lead investigations of policy and conduct violations
• Maintain Chemonics' policy manual and draft procedures for the policies
• Advise and liaise with senior staff
• Manage the employee recognition and staff satisfaction survey initiatives


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in human resources management
• Minimum six years of human resources or other relevant work experience
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to analyze complex situations and recommend appropriate action; outstanding listening skills
• Excellent diplomacy and judgment when handling both routine and challenging situations
• Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
• Supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
• Experience living or working in developing countries preferred
• Willingness to work overseas four to eight weeks per year and to consider long-term overseas assignments
• Permanent U.S. work authorization required
• English proficiency required; foreign language skills a plus
