Senior Management & Technical Positions

Working in partnership with local organizations, we adapt our work in response to local needs. 

EngenderHealth is seeking for qualified applicants to staff the below mentioned anticipated USAID-funded FP/RH project aiming at strengthening quality FP/RH service delivery through the use and scale-up of FP/RH practices. The positions will be based in Washington DC. Please be informed that one of the senior Advisor’s positions will also serve as Project’s Deputy. 

Project Director The Project Director will provide overall leadership of the program. Working closely with the Senior Advisor for Strengthening facility Based Services and the Senior Advisors for FP best Practices and Community Based services , he/ she will ensure that the goal of the project are met.

Key qualification:  An Advanced degree(s) in public health, social sciences, health systems, nursing administration, management, or a related advanced degree; at least 10 years of work experience in designing and implementing health service delivery strengthening projects, with five of these years spent managing large, complex family planning projects while living in developing countries; experience interacting with government agencies, host country governments and counterparts and international donor agencies; demonstrated international credibility as a leader in health and health service delivery strengthening in developing countries; Proficiency in second language is desirable. 

Senior Advisor for strengthening facility-Based Services– The Senior Advisor for strengthening facility-based services  will strengthen quality FP/ RH service delivery by addressing gaps in effective, sustainable, quality service delivery. He/she will also collaborate with in-country public, private and NGO sector that are focused on service delivery and other areas of the health system in order to achieve the goal of the project.

Key qualification:  An Advanced degree in public health or a clinical discipline; at least 8 years of experience in implementing or managing projects related to strengthening FP/RH facility-based services, with three-five years spent managing facility-based programs in developing countries; demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based FP/RH interventions to strengthen clinical services; experience with FP integration with MNCH, nutrition and / or HIV/AIDS is highly desirable; Demonstrated experience with broader health systems strengthening; demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based FP/RH interventions to strengthen clinical services; Proficiency in a second language is desirable. 

Senior Advisor for FP Best Practices and Community-Based Services– The Senior Technical Advisor for FP Best Practices and Community-Based Services will focus on expanding awareness and use of existing FP/RH best practices; generate new knowledge about service delivery strengthening through the use and scale-up of existing best practices and identify and document new FP/ RH best practices and innovations.

Key qualification:  An advanced degree in Public Health, nursing, midwifery, a clinical discipline, social sciences or a related advanced degree; at least 8 years of experience in implementing or managing community-based service delivery projects, with three to five years spent managing community-based service delivery projects in developing countries; demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based FP/RH interventions to strengthen community-based FP/RH services; Demonstrated leadership qualities, broad technical and management expertise and experience; Experience with integration of FP with MNCH, and HIV/AIDS is highly desirable; Proficiency in a second language is highly desirable.  

Senior Gender and Youth Advisor – The Senior Gender and Youth Advisor will work to promote gender-equlity approaches and tools for development of service delivery models, focusing on male engagement, spousal communication and gender based violence.

Key qualification: Advanced Degree in public health, international development, social sciences, gender/ women studies, adolescent health, anthropology, or a related field. At least 8 years of experience in designing, managing and implementing programs in developing countries that seek to increase gender-equality, empower women and girls, and strengthen FP/RH service delivery; at least 2-3 years of experience managing gender-related/ and/or youth programs while living in developing countries and experience in youth coaching and mentoring, including gender training/ capacity building; experience in conducting gender analysis, planning & implementing youth studies, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data; a demonstrated familiarity with gender integration tools and methodologies, and knowledge of internationally recognized evidence-based interventions to promote gender-equity in FP/RH; proficiency in one or more foreign languages is desirable. 

Monitoring & Evaluation Director – The M&E Advisor will play a leadership role in monitoring, validating, documenting and sharing approaches for strengthening service delivery through the use and scale-up of evidence-based FP/RH interventions.

Key qualification: Advanced degree in public health, demography, sociology, psychology, biostatics or a related field; at least 5 years of experience supervising monitoring & evaluating efforts for multi-country, multi-faceted health programs in developing countries; demonstrated analytical skills and experiences to identify and evaluate the evidence-based FP/RH interventions and state-of-the-art approaches to be used by the project. Demonstrated ability to undertake and supervise operations research, including designing research protocols, conducting research, analyzing and synthetizing data, and disseminating findings; strong writing and organizational skills in English for reporting on program study results. 

Finance, Administration & Grants Manager The Finance, Administration & Grants Manager is responsible for program finance and administration, as well as for providing technical support to partners in financial management and logistics, to build their capacity.  S/he works closely with the Project Director to establish and manage the project’s essential finance and administration systems for budgeting and financial monitoring and reporting; human resources; sub-contracting, consultant, and sub-award procedures; and program and field office management in accordance with the established USG regulations and procedures.

Key qualification: Degree in finance, business administration or related field with at least 7 years professional experience. Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA). Demonstrated experience in the operations management of a program of international  scope, preferably USAID, CDC or other USG donor-funded; experience in development and implementation of systems for subcontracts;  experience with finance and administration functions of international organizations; knowledge of US government funding rules and regulations, financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
