Land O’Lakes is
receiving applications for a Deputy Chief of Party on an anticipated
USAID-funded Livestock Growth Program in Ethiopia. Land O’Lakes International
Development is a non-profit division of the farmer-owned agricultural
cooperative, with over 80 years of farm-to-market experience.
Responsibilities: the DCOP will be the key liaison between the project and the
Government of Ethiopia, and will engage the host government on various
livestock-related institutional and policy reforms and dialogue with other
donors and projects. The DCOP will support the Chief of Party in providing
leadership management and general technical direction.
degree in international development, livestock, agriculture, economics, or
years of relevant long-term work experience in the Horn of Africa.
years of experience managing and implementing multi-faceted international
livestock development programs.
years of experience engaging host governments on livestock-related
institutional and policy reforms.
staff management experience, including direct supervision of professional and
support staff in a multi-cultural environment; USAID project management
experience strongly preferred.
language skills strongly preferred, but not required.
this position will be dependent on USAID award of the anticipated program to
Land O’Lakes, and on USAID approval of any proposed candidate.
