Position Summary: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day general accounting functions to support organizational operation. S/he will supervise the general staff accountants.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the general staff accountants; train and mentor staff in the general accounting unit.
Seek ways to improve and streamline general accounting process and procedures including but not limited to cash management, payroll, disbursement, credit card transactions, collections, monthly financial reporting, account analyses.
Review and approve overhead related charges vis-a vis the budget.
Perform monthly closing and generate monthly indicator report for Pact Inc.
Prepare monthly financial statements for Pact Inc and Pact Institute.
Prepare journal entries for monthly revenues on grants, cooperative agreements and contracts.
Review of accounts payable transaction entries prior to the check run.
Validate deposits against collection logbook for completeness and full accountability.
Review and approve journal entries on collections, credit card charges.
Monthly review of payroll processed against timesheet and payroll supporting documents along with monthly review of payroll journal entries.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statement for all US based accounts.
Prepare monthly journal entries for adjustments resulting from bank reconciliation.
Follow up and resolve disposition of outstanding (stale) checks per bank reconciliation statement.
Monthly reconciliation of selected balance sheets accounts.
Monthly reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
Monthly reconciliation of deferred revenue accounts.
Annual preparation of audit schedules.
Perform all work safely and maintain a safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Place key documents on the Intranet, including policies, templates, forms, etc.
Maintain the e-filing system of shared network drives and saving all relevant information to the designated location.
Facilitate and/or participate in learning communities and task forces.
Respond to information requests from colleagues and the field in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets (Excel) and database skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Familiarity with accounting software(s), (Microsoft Dynamic NAV).
Familiarity with ADP payroll processes a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
A team player.
Flexibility in a multicultural environment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business and a minimum of five (5) years experience in accounting and minimum two (2) years experience in supervisory function.
CPA a plus.
Accounting experience in a non-profit preferred.
