 State Coordinator West Bengal – Apne Aap Women World Wide (India) Trust

Apne Aap Women World Wide (India) trust (A2W2)

 Background: 

Apne Aap India World Wide Trust is an organisation which works with women and girls from the most at risk, vulnerable and socio-economically marginalised populations and with Denotified tribes, where there is a prevalence of intergenerational prostitution and forceful trafficking of women and girls. A2W2 works by implementing a ‘3 L’( access to Learning, Livelihoods and Legal Protection) model to prevent trafficking. This provides women and girls with more choices, through a rights based approach. A2W2 currently implements programs in New Delhi, Bihar, and Calcutta currently. We aim at expanding to other states over the coming 5 year plan to reach other states where trafficking of women is prevalent. 

Summary of the Position:

  1. To ensure the current and existing projects are strengthened and aligned to the new Apne Aap strategy business plan. To ensure the consolidation, implementation and monitoring of the current projects in Kolkata (Topsia & Khidderpore). To be the focal point person for visitors from other states or donors as the state project in-charge.
  1. To ensure the proper implementation and monitoring of 3L model in the state, as per business plan, by scaling-up to new areas as well as reaching to maximum victims of trafficked women and girls.
  1. To ensure proper planning, documenting, communicating for effective programme delivery. 
  1. To identify staff needs, concerns, resolve critical issues at the state level and take-up residual matters with the appropriate authority for redressal of the issue.
  1. Prepare mid-term and annual business plans for state and facilitate to achieve targets through liaison with state level public, private and NGO sector partners.
  1. To travel within the state as and when needed and to travel to other state projects if required.

Associated responsibilities

  • Based on requirement, to take charge of operations of other state as a contingency measure and ensure smooth transition to new comer
  • Any specific roles, or activities which are relevant in the office context but not mentioned above and given by Reporting Officer, partner organizations

Required Qualification:

  • Masters in Social Work/ Public Health Administration/ Project Management or any other related field with 2 to 3 years experience in social and human development projects.
  • Or Bachelors degree in Program management/ social work or related field with  3 to 5 years project management.

Core skills/competencies:

  • Knowledge of Local language would be an asset.
  • Excellent writing, documentation and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi
  • Knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, power point, email, etc) is a must
  • Knowledge of donor and MIS reporting is a must for both technical and financial reporting.

Expected Remuneration: Rs.30,000/- per month).
