Background
The Poorest Areas Civil Society Programme (PACS) is an initiative of the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID). Through the PACS programme, DFID is partnering with Indian civil society to help socially excluded people claim their rights and entitlements more effectively, so they receive a fairer share of India’s development gains. The PACS programme (2009-2014) supports civil society organisations (CSOs) promoting inclusive policies, programmes and institutions.
PACS will reach out five million people and their households in 90 districts across the states of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The programme focuses on socially excluded groups: scheduled castes (SCs), scheduled tribes (STs), Muslims, women and girls, and people with disability (PwD). PACS is implemented by the IFIRST Consortium on behalf of DFID.
The PACS Programme is seeking applications for the following vacancies:
1. State Managers (three) in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The state managers will be responsible for overall management of the programme in the state. The positions will be based in the respective state capitals.
2. Programme Officer (one) in the state of Chhattisgarh. The programme officer will be responsible for assisting the State Manager in management of the state programme.
3. Programme Support Officer (one) for the PACS National Office in Delhi. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the national team in documentation and reporting, management of MIS, coordination with the states on various information needs.
4. Finance Officer (three) in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. The finance officer will be responsible for administrative and financial management and grant monitoring of CSOs in the state. The position would be based in the respective state capitals.
