PROFILE
The Bhoruka
Charitable Trust(BCT) is non-government organization implementing
programs on Maternal Care and Child Development, Primary Health Care,
Family Welfare, Reproductive and Child Healt, Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Eye
Health, Water and Sanitation, Microfinance and Livelihood Promotions,
Formal and Non-Formal Education, management of natural Resources,
Infrastructure Development, Support to Community based Organization(CBOs).
BCT's Mission is dedicated to socio-economic transformation of rural and
remote areas of India, especially the weaker and socially underprivileged
groups, through physical, social, cultural and economic development of
rural people, groups and institutions.
About the
Project:
The Bhoruka
Charitable Trust (BCT) and its Consortium members The Population
Foundation of India (PFI) is awarded by the USAID to implement a four
year program on “Health of the Urban Poor” ending on September’2013. The
goal of the program is to improve the health status of the urban poor in
the urban locations by adopting effective and efficient sustainable
strategic intervention approaches adopting the principle of convergence
of the various development programs.

wishes to recruit the position for the above-mentioned Positions.
Job Summary:
The Documentation
and Research Officer is
responsible for overall documentation
and Research requirements
of the project in particular city. S/he will be responsible for promoting
the HUP related work of the city and assist the program in creating
linkages with the maximum number of stakeholders. S/he will regularly
provide and update information about the urban health project. S/he will
be responsible for providing support in proposal and report writing,
documenting case studies, photo
documentation,
preparing quality presentations, procuring communication materials, field
innovation reporting.
Roles &
Responsibilities:
• Designing
and modifying templates for information collection.
• Responsible for specific documentation and Research assignments
including analytical process documents, case studies, best practices,
situational analysis, status reports, photo documentation etc.
• Planning and organizing documentation
and Research
activities
including desk research, preparation of field check lists, field documentation,
analysis, and Building Projects.
• Design and facilitate production of promotional materials, including
program documentation and
case studies and assist in web site maintenance
• Produce high quality donor and internal reports, and other documents as
requested.
• Collection, updating, synthesis and analysis of data on the
organization’s field activities
• Develop and
design e-newsletters.
• Support
development and maintaining of organization’s website
• Prepare
relevant press release for print/ mass media.
• Any other
task as assigned by the supervisors from time to time.
Qualification
and Experience:
• Degree or
professional qualification in a relevant subject
• Minimum of
5 years experience in working with community based Development Projects.
• Experience
in documentation
and Research of
development projects.
• Experience in participative planning, monitoring and evaluation
approaches
• Understanding of technical, social and institutional issues relating to
health, water, sanitation and hygiene.
• Published articles or reports in reputed journals, magazines,
newspapers etc.
Significant experience in community-based water supply, sanitation and
hygiene promotion projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, fluency
in local language is highly recommended
• Ability to use computers for word-processing and high quality documentation
• Ability to think clearly and analytically and present concise and
analytical reports, for use at various levels.
• Ability to visit the project sites and gather information for case
studies and impact assessments
• Ability to
plan own work, setting priorities and completing it under pressure or
when faced with competing demands.

Remuneration
Compensation
package offer will commensurate with qualification and experiences.
