Announcement of Vacancy in M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation

The following vacancies are under a project “Alleviation of Poverty and Malnutrition in Agro-biodiversity Hotspots” being supported by the International Development Research of Canada and jointly implemented at three locations (Koraput in Orissa, Wayanad in Kerala and Kolli Hills in Tamil Nadu) by the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation and University of Alberta, Canada.

This project aims at conducting action research on improved small farm income generation and household nutrition through integrated, participatory and sustainable farm productivity and non-farm enterprises.

 

Application should include full biodata providing complete academic record from SSLC, stating areas of specialization, academic achievement, nature and duration of experience, full address and telephone number of two most recent employers, names and addresses of two referees who have close familiarity with the professional strength and character of the candidate, current address, recent photo, telephone and e-mail ID. Vacancy 4: Project Manager one post at MSSRF, Chennai

Job

Description

The Project Manager will be required to assist the Project Director, technically and administratively, in project coordination, forecasting and monitoring project activities and milestones, supervision, managing the project events, preparing project reports in team with Co PIs and subject matter experts, developing other project publications, fact sheets, etc, managing project web site, monitoring project budget and other related work as assigned from time to time.

Minimum qualification

Essential: Ph.D or M.Sc or M.A. in any field of specialization or M.B.A. or M.Com. from any recognized University, with at least five years experience in the job profile described above. The candidate should possess excellent communication skill, writing and editorial capacity in English with ability to understand the different nuances of the said project and its implementation. Skill and ability in project coordination with team in Alberta University, monitoring project budget and proficiency in computer application are also important.

Proficiency in either Oriya, Tamil or Malayalam will be desirable.

 

Persons retired from public/private service, but below 60 years and in good health may also apply.

 

Remuneration:

Up to Rs 40,000/month (consolidated, depends on the suitability of candidate)

Duration

The tenure of appointment is for about 42 months with immediate effect. MSSRF has an employment policy to absorb and retain promising candidates and promote their career. However, the entry for all regular positions is only through project placements.
