Announcement of Vacancy in M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation    Ref: MSSRF/IDRC-Mega-1/ 2011   The following vacancies are under a project “Alleviation of Poverty and Malnutrition in Agro-biodiversity Hotspots” being supported by the International Development Research of Canada and jointly implemented at three locations (Koraput in Orissa, Wayanad in Kerala and Kolli Hills in Tamil Nadu) by the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation and University of Alberta, Canada. This project aims at conducting action research on improved small farm income generation and household nutrition through integrated, participatory and sustainable farm productivity and non-farm enterprises.   Application should include full biodata providing complete academic record from SSLC, stating areas of specialization, academic achievement, nature and duration of experience, full address and telephone number of two most recent employers, names and addresses of two referees who have close familiarity with the professional strength and character of the candidate, current address, recent photo, telephone and e-mail ID. Vacancy-1:  Co-Principal Investigator (Two posts, one each in Jeypore (Orissa) and Wayanad (Kerala)
Job Description	The Co PI will be required to effectively lead the entire the project implementation team in the respective location covering 1000 to 2500 small farm households. Candidates need to possess high competence and innovative skill and in discharging the responsibility with commitment to work in villages. S/he should have proven leadership qualities and strength in all round management of action research related to integrated agriculture, which  focus on enhanced farm productivity in participatory mode, increased income generation from on- and off-farm project initiatives, value chain building, and improved food and nutritional security. Capacity of farm women and men is an important area of work. The Co PI shall work under the administrative and technical control of competent MSSRF authority.
Minimum qualification	Essential: Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Agriculture with specialization in Crop production/Agronomy from any recognized University. At least five years experience in the case of Ph.D. holders and ten years experience in the case of M.Sc. degree holders in the relevant area with all round knowledge and experience in integrated agriculture is essential. The candidates should have proven track record in team leadership, skill in farmer participatory research, supervising data collection, processing and analysis and ability in report writing, work presentation and proficiency in computer application. Proficiency in local language of the respective project location is a must. Persons retired from public/private service, but below 60 years and in good health may also apply.
Remuneration	Up to Rs 50,000/month (consolidated, depends on the suitability of candidate)
Duration	The tenure of appointment is for about 42 months with immediate effect. MSSRF has an employment policy to absorb and retain promising candidates and promote their career. However, the entry for all regular positions is only through project placements.
