Chief of Party, East Africa

Land O’Lakes International Development is receiving applications for a Chief of Party in anticipation of new USAID-funded dairy programming in East Africa.

Land O’Lakes International Development is a non-profit division of the farmer-owned agricultural cooperative, with more than 80 years of farm-to-market experience. For more information on our organization, please visit our website at

The Chief of Party will be responsible for technical and operational management of the anticipated project, and supervision of the project’s in-country team. S/he will work in close collaboration with USAID, local government officials, other stakeholders and the Land O’Lakes headquarters to ensure the program satisfactorily meets its technical requirements and complies with applicable USAID rules and regulations.

• Master’s degree in agriculture, business, or a related field required
• Minimum 10 years of professional international development experience in agriculture required; significant dairy production and/or dairy processing technical experience strongly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of Chief of Party, Component Leader or comparable Country Director experience required
• Minimum 2 years of professional long-term experience in Africa required
• USAID project management experience strongly preferred
• Private sector agribusiness experience a plus

Please note that the above position is dependent on USAID award of the anticipated program to Land O’Lakes, and on USAID approval of any proposed candidate.
