the leader in the elimination of child labour from the carpet industry.
Job Overview
The Country Director is the top position within the organization’s
in-country structure. The incumbent is responsible for development and
refinement of the organizations, vision and strategy. Provide leadership
to the
new and exciting strategic phase in its development within India, and
position the organisation as a leader in the elimination of child labour
from the carpet industry. Role demands creating a presence and
representations at international or domestic forums as required and
leading and driving the country operations.
Candidate Profile
Essential
An exceptional leader with proven strategic, planning and implementation
skills.
Ability and experience to deal at operational level.
Excellent networking skills.
Minimum five years senior management experience – preferably in an
international, multi-stakeholder environment.
Track record in building successful business relations.
Supply chain management within one or more product categories
specifically as it relates goods produced for export.
Experience in reporting to a board of directors.
Proven track record of achieving result
Strong Leader with an ability to build an effective and cohesive
management team
Ability to handle finances to head a organization
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
Desirable
Knowledge and understanding of child labor or other labor rights concerns
would be an added advantage.
An entrepreneurial experience or style of working.
Knowledge of local legislation relating to factories, labour, OHS and
environment.
Knowledge of CSR and social and environmental management systems
Experience of reporting on social and environmental issues and carrying
out stakeholder consultation.
Prior work experience with or in NGO / INGO’s .
Ability to deliver complex messages in simple terms.
Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
Proven fundraising record.
Governance and Compliance as per organizational need
Key Requirement Areas
Lead the planning, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting
of all country operations and program activities.
The person will represent the organization at various national and
international forums.
Gain an increasing level of industry and stakeholder involvement
Directly supervise the country management team and oversee all monitoring
and evaluation activities in-country.
Provide staff with the necessary assistance to ensure that all program
activities and all reporting requirements (financial, donor, statutory)
are carried out efficiently and on a timely basis in accordance with the
organization’s international and local government requirements.
Ensure regular intra-office communication, assess organizational progress
and communicate updates and developments.
Work with the management team to develop ideas and plans to address
organizational priorities and undertake strategic and operational
planning exercises.
Develop and manage relationships with other NGOs, government officials
and appropriate industry representatives; schedule and attend meetings
with them as needed to coordinate planning and implementation of projects
and secure necessary approvals and commitments.
Identify track and document program trends and best practices.
Represent the organization at relevant internal and external meetings and
plan and host donor visits as needed.
Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual
institutional and individual donors.
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
Education
- Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences or any other relevant field.
Compensation
